Movement is a colour. That sounds precious until you spend an afternoon with Sugimoto and see how still water becomes weather when you leave the shutter open long enough.
Fan Ho did it with people at the harbour. Ray K. Metzker did it with headlights and stairs. Alexey Titarenko did it with St Petersburg crowds and it looked like tide.
I keep coming back to how much of a monochrome image is time. Not motion blur specifically, but the felt duration of the frame. If you get the duration right the tone follows.
